Key considerations included choosing a scene that would change markedly based on the light sources, arranging our scene to compose the final render, and staying within the constraints of our available time and hardware. As we were allowed to freely choose our theming, the planning phase was crucial in defining the scope of our project and making sure I adhered to my original vision.

I began by deciding to create a scene that would use natural light in one version, and candlelight in the second. This defined my palette, which then informed my choice to use lots of foliage, glass materials, and create clutter - with the end goal of allowing many different interactions with the light sources that would emphasize the difference between both settings.

My final scene depicts a hybrid storefront and workspace in a fantasy setting. This project was a fantastic learning experience that pushed me to adapt to a variety of new challenges, learn new workflows, and optimize my tools.
